Look Who’s Talking

Look whose talking. Children can and do hear the voice of God. Never underestimate that or write it off.

1 Samuel 3:3 – The lamp of God had not yet gone out in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was lying down When the Lord called, Samuel! And he answered, Here I am.

You know the story well. Hannah had cried out for a son God answered her prayer. She then gave her firstborn for service in the church. Samuel was young. He was doing all sorts of stuff in church. Serving and ministering to the Lord and Eli. But he did not know God personally.

You know you can be in church. Doing all sorts of stuff. And I believe the children should be doing everything in church. But you can be faithful, work hard and do loads of stuff for God but not know Him.

God’s answer to a time when the word of the Lord was rare ..was a child Samuel. But as yet he didn’t know God. You know I dont want my children and the children of my generation to do all the church stuff without knowing God. Samuel needed an encounter with God himself. I believe each young person needs their own individual encounter with God to hear His voice. I dont want children to grow up without knowing Jesus personally. I believe God calls people at an early age.
My job is to connect them with the voice of their heavenly father.

Children can and do hear the voice of God. Never underestimate that or write it off. Just look whose talking.

Prayer Father thankyou that children aren’t the church of tomorrow but the church of today. Thankyou that You still call children to encounter You and work for You. Help me not get in the way of that today in Jesus name Amen.
